Caldera House is a contemporary homage to the golden age of skiing.  It was important to the four owners, all avid snow-sport athletes, that the five-star resort feel cool, relaxed, and livable. Therefore, the design team transformed the sprawling 70,000-square-foot building into a series of carefully planned public and private spaces. Restaurants and bars are inviting, crucial to a tight-knit Jackson Hole community, whereas the members-only locker room and the eight-room hotel offer a sense of exclusivity unmatched elsewhere in the village.

A major draw to Caldera House is the chance to stay in one of the four 5,000-square-foot owners’ suites, each individually designed and decorated. They all enjoy stunning views of both the mountain and ski village, with sliding glass doors opening to decks on either end. In the Valles residence featured here, the interior embraces both retro- and rustic-chic styles, allowing wood, color, and pattern to create a cozy place for an après-ski retreat.

"...the design firms harmonized their visions for a modern chalet around the golden age of European Alpine skiing and the traditions of the American west, creating a warm and elegant retreat that highlights American craftsmanship and artistry from the past and present."
