The Four Pines Residence is a refined mountain retreat shaped by both European alpine influences and the rugged beauty of the American West. Conceived for a Chicago-based family, the 9,000-square-foot home offers generous space for gathering, reflection, and immersion in nature.
Tucked into a wooded neighborhood at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the home balances privacy with expansive views. A simple gabled form rests on a stone base, with wood slats and large windows filtering light and framing the surrounding landscape. The sequence from entry to living spaces unfolds deliberately, with a glass stair and curated gallery leading to an open pavilion facing the slopes.
Materially, the home embraces restraint: locally sourced stone, vertical cedar siding, wood-clad interiors, and subtle plaster walls provide a quiet backdrop for the client’s significant contemporary art collection. The architecture is both modern and timeless — a careful study in proportion, craft, and connection to place.
